We’ve been shortlisted for a National Diversity Award.
We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted from 72,000 entries at the National Diversity Awards.
This is the first time we have entered the awards, in the category of ‘Community Organisation - Age’ ‘This award applauds groups, charities and voluntary organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to their local community, or nationwide, with diversity as their core focus.’
The Grand celebrates it’s 21st birthday this year and we are proud to work with people from the borough from the age of 8 years up to 91 years old (currently) on all kinds of projects. From teaching tech classes to older people to supporting young people and their mental health.
What are the awards about?
‘Charities, role models and community heroes will be honoured at the 2022 ceremony showcasing their outstanding devotion to enhancing equality, diversity and inclusion; thus embracing the excellence of all our citizens irrespective of race, faith, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability and culture.
‘The concept for the National Diversity Awards arose when The Diversity Group identified an urgent need for more positive role models to be actively promoted, with the aim to empower and inspire the wide breadth of diverse communities across the UK.’
When will we find out if we won?
The Awards Ceremony takes place on Friday 16 September in Liverpool. We’re keeping our fingers crossed, but no matter the outcome we are over the moon to have been recognised for the work we do and thrilled to celebrate everyone else who has been shortlisted for their work across the UK.
